Spondylo-lysthesis

Spondylolisthesis is a spinal condition where one vertebra slips forward over the vertebra below it, causing back pain, stiffness, and nerve compression. It most commonly affects the lower back (lumbar spine) and can lead to nerve irritation or even spinal instability.

Types of Spondylolisthesis:

🔹 Congenital Spondylolisthesis – Present at birth due to spinal defects.
🔹 Isthmic Spondylolisthesis – Caused by small stress fractures in the vertebrae.
🔹 Degenerative Spondylolisthesis – Occurs with aging due to arthritis and disc degeneration.
🔹 Traumatic Spondylolisthesis – Results from sudden injury or accident.
🔹 Pathologic Spondylolisthesis – Caused by diseases like tumors or osteoporosis.

Causes & Risk Factors:

🦴 Aging & Degeneration – Weakened discs and joints over time.
🏋️ Repetitive Stress or Overuse – Common in athletes (gymnasts, weightlifters).
🤕 Spinal Injuries – Accidents, falls, or trauma to the back.
🧬 Genetics – Family history of spinal conditions increases risk.
🚶 Poor Posture & Sedentary Lifestyle – Weakens core muscles, affecting spinal stability.

Symptoms of Spondylolisthesis:

💢 Lower back pain – Worsens with movement or standing for long periods.
Leg pain, numbness, or tingling – Due to nerve compression (sciatica-like symptoms).
🚶 Difficulty Walking or Standing – Weakness in legs or loss of coordination.
🛌 Tight Hamstrings – Leads to stiffness and restricted movement.
📉 Loss of Spinal Flexibility – Difficulty bending forward or backward.
