What are Piles (Hemorrhoids)?

Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are swollen veins in the lower rectum or anus. They can cause pain, itching, and bleeding, especially during bowel movements.

Types of Piles:

🔹 Internal Hemorrhoids – Inside the rectum, usually painless but may cause bleeding.
🔹 External Hemorrhoids – Swollen veins outside the anus, causing pain and itching.
🔹 Thrombosed Hemorrhoids – A blood clot forms inside an external hemorrhoid, leading to severe pain and swelling.
🔹 Prolapsed Hemorrhoids – Internal hemorrhoids that bulge outside the anus, may cause discomfort.
