Migraine

Migraine is a neurological disorder that causes intense, throbbing headaches, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light & sound. Attacks can last from a few hours to several days and may interfere with daily activities.

🔹 Types of Migraine

Migraine Without Aura (Common Migraine) – Severe headache with nausea & sensitivity to light/sound but no warning signs.
Migraine With Aura – Includes visual disturbances (flashing lights, blind spots) or other sensory changes before the headache begins.
Chronic Migraine – Occurs 15 or more days per month for at least 3 months.
Hemiplegic Migraine – Causes temporary weakness on one side of the body, resembling a stroke.
Vestibular Migraine – Causes dizziness, balance issues, and vertigo.

🔹 Causes & Triggers of Migraine

🔬 Exact cause is unknown, but it is linked to brain chemical imbalances (like serotonin) and abnormal nerve activity.

Common Triggers:

Hormonal Changes – Women often experience migraines during menstruation, pregnancy, or menopause.
Caffeine & Alcohol – Excessive caffeine or alcohol can trigger attacks.
🍔 Diet – Processed foods, aged cheese, MSG, artificial sweeteners, and skipped meals can contribute.
😴 Sleep Disturbances – Lack of sleep or irregular sleep patterns.
💡 Sensory Overload – Bright lights, loud noises, and strong smells.
😰 Stress & Anxiety – Emotional stress is a major trigger.
🌦️ Weather Changes – Sudden temperature, humidity, or pressure shifts.
