Epistaxix
What is Epistaxis (Nosebleed)?
Epistaxis, commonly known as a nosebleed, is the bleeding from the inside of the nose due to broken blood vessels. It can be mild or severe, lasting from a few seconds to several minutes.
Causes of Nosebleeds:
🌵 Dry Air & Low Humidity – Dries out nasal membranes, causing cracks.
👃 Nose Picking or Blowing Too Hard – Damages delicate blood vessels.
🤧 Colds, Sinus Infections, or Allergies – Irritate nasal lining.
🚬 Exposure to Smoke & Irritants – Weakens nasal blood vessels.
🔥 Injury or Trauma – A hit to the nose can cause bleeding.
🌡 Extreme Weather Changes – Sudden temperature shifts.
💊 Blood-Thinning Medications – Aspirin, warfarin, etc.
🩸 Underlying Conditions – High blood pressure, clotting disorders.
Types of Nosebleeds:
🔹 Anterior Nosebleed (Front of the Nose) – Most common, from the front nasal septum.
🔹 Posterior Nosebleed (Back of the Nose) – More serious, deeper inside the nose, may require medical attention.
