Chronic allergic rhinitis
Chronic Allergic Rhinitis (CAR) is a long-term inflammation of the nasal passages due to an allergic reaction. It is triggered by allergens such as dust mites, pollen, pet dander, mold, or strong odors. Common symptoms include sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy nose, and postnasal drip, which can persist throughout the year.
Types of Chronic Allergic Rhinitis
Chronic Allergic Rhinitis is categorized into two main types:
1️⃣ Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis (Hay Fever):
- Occurs during specific seasons (spring, summer, or fall).
- Triggered by airborne allergens like pollen from trees, grass, or weeds.
2️⃣ Perennial Allergic Rhinitis:
- Persists throughout the year.
- Caused by indoor allergens such as dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, and cockroach droppings.
