Chickengunia

Chikungunya is a viral disease caused by the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus). It causes sudden fever, severe joint pain, rash, and fatigue.

Symptoms of Chikungunya:

🦠 High Fever (102-104°F) – Sudden onset, lasts 3-5 days.
🤕 Severe Joint Pain (Arthralgia) – Can last for weeks or months.
🌿 Skin Rash – Red patches or small blisters on arms, legs, or face.
😰 Fatigue & Weakness – Prolonged tiredness even after fever subsides.
🚰 Muscle Pain, Headache, Chills, and Nausea – Flu-like symptoms.

Incubation Period: 3-7 days after a mosquito bite.
Recovery Time: Most people recover in 7-10 days, but joint pain may persist for months.

🦟 Mosquito Bites – Aedes mosquitoes bite during the daytime (morning & late afternoon).
🌍 Outbreaks in Tropical & Subtropical Regions – Common in Asia, Africa & the Americas.
🤝 Not Spread Person-to-Person – Only through mosquito bit
