What is Asthma?

Asthma is a chronic respiratory condition that causes inflammation and narrowing of the airways, making it difficult to breathe. It leads to wheezing, shortness of breath, coughing, and chest tightness.


Causes & Triggers of Asthma:

🦠 Allergens – Dust, pollen, pet dander, mold.
🏭 Pollution & Smoke – Cigarette smoke, strong odors, chemical fumes.
🌡 Weather Changes – Cold air, humidity, or sudden temperature shifts.
💪 Exercise-Induced Asthma – Physical activity can trigger symptoms.
🤧 Respiratory Infections – Colds, flu, or sinus infections.
😟 Stress & Anxiety – Emotional distress can worsen symptoms.
🍲 Certain Foods & Additives – Sulfites in processed foods, seafood, dairy.


Symptoms of Asthma:

🌬 Shortness of Breath – Difficulty breathing, especially at night or after exercise.
😷 Wheezing – Whistling sound while breathing.
💨 Coughing – Worse at night or early morning.
🔥 Chest Tightness or Pain – Feels like pressure in the chest.


Types of Asthma:

🔹 Allergic Asthma – Triggered by allergens (pollen, dust, pet dander).
🔹 Non-Allergic Asthma – Caused by infections, stress, or pollution.
🔹 Exercise-Induced Asthma – Occurs during or after physical activity.
🔹 Occupational Asthma – Triggered by workplace irritants (dust, fumes, chemicals).
🔹 Childhood Asthma – Common in kids, can improve with age.
